November in Central Oregon begins with crisp fall days and ends with tree lightings, holiday markets and the first real signs of winter. It is a quieter month between peak travel seasons, but the calendar is full of meaningful community traditions—from honoring veterans in downtown Bend to welcoming the holidays in Sunriver, Sisters and Redmond.
Here are some of the best confirmed events and seasonal activities happening around Central Oregon in November 2026. These events are also a good introduction to the communities and four-season lifestyle explored in our Living Exceptionally in Central Oregon lifestyle guides.

The Bend housing market slowed further in October 2026 as mortgage rates averaging approximately 7.3% reduced buyer purchasing power and kept many financed buyers on the sidelines.
The median sales price declined 3.6%, closed sales fell 16.8%, and pending sales dropped 17.4% compared with October 2025. At the same time, cash purchases increased sharply and represented nearly 40% of completed sales.
These numbers do not indicate a housing crash or an oversupply of Bend homes. They show a market constrained by affordability, with fewer buyers able or willing to purchase at today's combination of home prices and borrowing costs.

Some hikes stand out because of a difficult summit or an unexpected challenge. Others are memorable because nearly everything comes together: clear skies, calm water, comfortable afternoon temperatures and long stretches of trail with almost no one else around.
Our Saturday hike from Devil's Lake to Moraine Lake and Wickiup Plains was one of those days.
We began on the South Sister Climber Trail, followed it to the junction for Moraine Lake and then made a broad loop through the Three Sisters Wilderness. After visiting Moraine Lake, we climbed back to the climber trail, continued from the junction toward Wickiup Plains and returned on the loop that also connects with the Sisters Mirror Lake Trail. By the time we reached the car, we had traveled 12.3 miles with approximately 1,925 feet of elevation gain.

Modern floor plans, energy-efficient features, attractive finishes and the opportunity to move into a home that has never been occupied are compelling advantages. And in today's housing market, builders may offer another incentive: financing packages designed to make the monthly payment more attractive.
But a lower advertised mortgage rate does not necessarily mean you're getting the best overall deal.
Before purchasing a new-construction home, buyers should understand how builder incentives work, what can be...
