For those looking for an upscale neighborhood, look no further than Wild River with the neighborhood covering both sides of the river and having a wonderful trail system and privately owned footbridge to allow for a nature hike right in your own backyard. This neighborhood also has very easy access to forest land so outdoor recreation is not hard to find. Another wonderful area a little closer to the highway is Tall Pines. This affordable neighborhood is nestled amongst the trees and allows for a city feel while still being in the country. Schools & Education

La Pine has two elementary schools, plus a middle and high school within the Bend La-Pine school district. If you are looking for a place to raise a family with great schools, unfortunately this may not be your best choice. According to www.GreatSchools.org, although the elementary school test scores are about average, the middle and high-school test scores are among the lowest in the state.
