This is the time when a lot of people take a moment to reflect and set their goals for this year. And as you picture what you want your 2025 to look like, one thing that may pop into your mind is the vision of you in a new home. But how do you get there? And where do you start?

Here's some advice that can help you get the ball rolling.

Focus on Your Why

To lay the foundation, you need to focus on your why. While the dollars and cents are important, so is the driving force behind your desire to move. Maybe you need more space for a growing family, want to sell so you can downsize, or are finally ready to buy your first h...

Have you been on the hunt for a new great steakhouse to try in Central Oregon? We recently had the opportunity to try one of the newest locations in Northwest Crossing, Rancher Butcher Chef. Featuring dishes that served family style and intended to share, this was a wonderful experience for a date night out.

We began our meal with some delightfully light and fluffy hushpuppies with a jalapeno honey butter. This dish came out quickly, and was a wonderful first flavor to start with. The hushpuppies had a nice crunchy exterior with a light, delectable interior and the jalapeno honey butter was not spicy but featured the flavor of the jalapeno nicely.

We continued our culinary experience with a small order of scallops. These scallops were very well cooked and the pairing of the hazelnut romesco and fennel salad made this dish a nice, refreshing bite to have after...

This week we revisited Roam and we can both say they've made some Major improvements to their menu items and the quality is outstanding! Their new head chef and two time Food Network chef, Bryant Kryck, seems to truly be making an impact in this up and coming foodie location.

There were so many great menu items to choose from but we decided to start with their Ahi Tuna Ceviche. The fish was fresh, the lime juice gave a nice acidity, the pico de gallo and cucumbers brought a crisp freshness, the tostadas added the crunch and richness, while the capers and fresno peppers truly brought something special to this dish that you won't want to miss.

For entrees we had to go with something classic and something unique. Lets start with a classic- The Cheese Burger. Roam took a classic and spiced it up a bit! Not with heat level spice but added some lemon scented arugula and pi...

We are always on the lookout for the next great culinary creation in Bend, Oregon and today we stopped by a winning location. Papi Chulo's in the Box Factory has a simple menu packed with flavor that we are eager to try again. Even from our first bites of a simple chips and guac appetizer, we knew this was a flavor experience Bend has been needing.

We absolutely had to try the birria items on the menu this time around as we both love the their taste.

The birria burrito is packed with stand alone flavor. The meat is perfectly seasoned and slow cooked; it just melts in your mouth. The simple addition of cheese, onion, and cilantro do a great job of complimenting the meat without taking over the show. This burrito when dunked, and I mean DUNK it, in the birria soup is ju...

Maybe we're late to the game but for this month's review we finally tried Sebastian's at the Grove!

Let's start with the Fish & Chips. Some of you may know our personal affinity for the British, and their food fairs. Well if you are also have that same affinity, we would Highly recommend Sebastian's fish and chips. While it not an entire fish, the nuggets they serve are the perfect ratio of fish to batter to flavors. Their breading is not overly greasy or dense but has a beautiful delicate buttery, herbed flavor which pairs perfectly with the LARGE chunk of fish it encases. Two giant fish nuggets on a bed of "chips" goes stunningly with tons of malt vinegar and will only set you back $18; fish portions are worth the price tag.

We also had to try the Teriyaki Smoked Salmon Mix Bowl while we were there for our lunch. The hot smoked salmon was perfectly prepared...
